The tables are set before the first guest arrives — mismatched teacups, fresh flowers cut that morning, name cards in handwriting that isn’t trying too hard. A longtime donor sits down next to someone who found Novara through a friend’s Instagram post last week. Neither of them knows yet how many bridges this one afternoon will build — a board member meeting a case manager for the first time, a first-time visitor deciding, over her second cup of tea, that she wants to come back next year. By the time the last plate is cleared, no one’s talking about divisions or frameworks. They’re just talking about what they want to be part of next.
