We believe housing should never be the finish line. It should be the launch point, for healing, for economic mobility, for personal agency, for legacy. A place where new life begins.
Every family Kamilah Little has served through The Novara Group carries a story that started long before they walked through a door. So did she.
Kamilah did not set out to build seven organizations. She set out to solve one problem she kept watching repeat itself: families reaching the end of a crisis, finding a program, and discovering the program could only meet a fraction of what they actually needed. A bed, but no healing. A healing circle, but no path to income. A job program, but nowhere permanent to live once it ended.
She built The Novara Group to close those gaps, not with a single sprawling program, but with an entire federation, each division sharp enough to stand on its own, all of them woven into one continuum of care. It is an unusual structure. It is also the only structure that answers the whole problem instead of a piece of it.
What drives the work is not a theory. It is a belief that the families walking through Novara’s doors are not projects to be managed. They are people mid-story, and the story is theirs to finish. Novara’s role is to build the infrastructure, housing, healing, income, community, permanency, that makes finishing that story on their own terms possible.
“The families walking through Novara’s doors are not projects to be managed. They are people mid-story — and the story is theirs to finish.”
A place where new life begins.

We operate as a federation of purpose-built divisions, each one independently capable, all of them working from the same theory of change. Where most organizations offer a single service, we offer a continuum, meeting a family at the edge of instability and walking beside them until they are standing on ground they built themselves.

Because housing without healing is temporary. Trauma-informed care and wellness work sit at the structural center of everything we do, not on the periphery.

Economic empowerment and workforce development toward lasting independence.
Peer support and community integration. No one moves forward alone.
Housing permanency and transition planning — the Ascend phase in practice.

Every family we serve arrives having already survived something. What we build next is theirs to shape.
Our work starts where placement usually stops.
We do not separate a roof from a recovery.
No resident or client we serve is ever depicted, identified, or exposed through any program, story, or campaign, without exception.
Seven distinct organizations mean seven distinct ways for our community, our partners, and our funders to walk in and build with us.
Women and children supported through our housing and healing continuum
Countries served across the Inland Empire and San Diego region
Independently incorporated divisions, one unified mission
12 to 24 month program tracks built around real recovery timelines, not arbitrary ones
Restoration infrastructure is not built by one organization alone. It is built by everyone willing to stand inside it.
Whether you are a funder, a fellow nonprofit, or a business ready to invest in your community, there is a seat for you inside this work.
If you know a woman, a family, or a young person who needs more than a shelter bed, we are ready.
